Pregnancy Journey

Kia ora! When you're on your pregnancy journey, it's essential to plan ahead with your support network. This includes deciding where you'll give birth, who'll be present, and whether you'll breastfeed. Attending hapū mama antenatal classes is vital. Our free services cover pregnancy testing, sexual and reproductive health care, antenatal care, ultrasounds, blood tests, classes, birth planning, postnatal care, breastfeeding support, smoking cessation, mirimiri for hapū māmā, assistance with drug/alcohol issues, contraceptives, and walk-in clinics. Regular blood, urine tests, and scans monitor your baby's growth. Your midwife will guide you on their timing and frequency, ensuring both you and baby stay healthy.

Māmā & Pēpi Programme

The Māmā & Pēpi Programme is a Kaupapa Māori service supporting women who are embracing Tikanga Māori values. We provide a total wrap around support service during your pregnancy and until your child is five years of age, includes antenatal and postnatal and Tamariki Ora care. Age is not a determining factor for this programme, and we can accept Māori and Pacific women of all ages who are hapū.

Whānau Support

Kia ora! You can join our programme through a referral from a Midwife, Nurse, GP, or by self-referral. Once referred, our kaiāwhina (nurse) will reach out to you for a face-to-face meeting to register you and discuss your needs. You're free to exit the programme anytime before your child turns five .Our programme aims to connect whānau with their community and professional services to achieve their goals. Services include Nourished for Nil, Cosy Kids, Safe Sleep devices ,  Wahakura, Smoking Cessation, Outreach Immunisations, and Early Childcare Education. Our kaiāwhina will support you at home, assisting with any inquiries and decisions during your baby's first five years. We're dedicated to providing you and your baby with a well-informed start. Our kaiāwhina will also offer guidance on any health or social issues that arise for you or your child.
